East Bay Golf Lab started 2 years ago with a yearning to give myself access to the game I both love yet still frustrates me like most other golfers. Who knew building a golf simulator at my car shop (East Bay Auto Spa) would turn into the kind of golf community it has become. As many new golfers born from this pandemic know, it is difficult to lock down the proper resources to get better at this sport. Between swing thoughts and opinions on social media, to the various equipment choices out there, it’s hard to trust which resources are best.
The golf lab started to take shape after meeting Kevin Paule. Kevin was searching for an independent venture to share his talent as a swing coach as I connected the need of many of my car and bike shop clientele were searching for. Shortly after talking about our similar goals, Kevin began giving golf lessons in the room I built for my personal use in the shop next door I utilize for mainly our ceramic coating services for East Bay Auto Spa.
Several months into the pandemic I met this young talent, Brandon Gazdar, at Boundary Oak Golf Course on a casual Sunday twilight round. I witnessed and recorded him holing out from 120 yards on the first par 5 that afternoon and instantly knew I wanted to find some way to have this talent be a part of what Kevin and I already had brewing. Shortly after landing his new role as the head tech rep for Taylormade, Brandon was integral in convincing his boss to take a chance on the business as the final piece of the puzzle to connect our golf swing clients with arguably the best golf equipment around. And with the meeting of great minds, the East Bay Golf Lab was conceived.
In addition to Ron's passion for golf, his main business is East Bay Auto Spa. East Bay Auto Spa has been fixture in Walnut Creek for over 15 years and has the reputation with the local car dealerships and private car owners to back it up. He also finds an escape through trail biking so when an opportunity to invest presented itself, he jumped on. As part owner of Frame Up Bikes, it gives him the opportunity extend his presence in the East Bay community.
Certified Club Fitter
Master Club Builder
Brandon is an aspiring tour player, looking to play professional golf across the globe in the next couple years. Brandon’s journey actually started at the age of 2 for golf and baseball. When a shoulder injury ended his collegiate baseball career, getting back into golf became his next venture.
After pursuing years of master club building and fitting, Brandon was offered a new opportunity to become the head tech for TaylorMade's Northern California/Northern Nevada region. With a true understanding of the golf game and technical knowledge of club fitting, Brandon quickly became one of the top fitters for the entire TaylorMade company in only 7 months.
Brandon brings his skill set and postive outlook to be an essential piece of the puzzle here at East Bay Golf Lab.
